Things NOT to say to a working Mom.

I recently read this article and thought it was rather fitting...there was also a list of what not to say to a stay-at-home mom. I have always thought we as Mom's must always want "it all." Somedays I envy stay-home-mamas more than you know, and Somedays I am thrilled to be at work. I imagine it's similar for all Moms.

So, here is the list...I could think of a few more too...#7 is my personal favorite, having heard variations of this one myself.

1. It must be hard missing all those special moments every day.

2. I suppose it's smart that you're working. You know, in case your husband leaves you some day.

3. I'm surprised you went back to work. Your husband seems so successful.

4. It's cute when they call your nanny "Mama."

5. I just love my kids too much to leave them during the day.

6. Did you see Dateline? The one with the hidden camera in the day care?

7. I could never let someone else raise my children. But that's just me!

8. I hated my mom because she was never home after school like everyone else's mom.

9. You must feel so guilty.

10. I wish I were as laid-back as you and could just let the housework go.

Weekend Fun

We had a great weekend jumping on some trampolines and burning off steam (although Mama had to sit out...), taking a concealed weapons class while T had a date with Nana and Papa, and playing in the snow. We got dumped on Saturday so Ryan and T plowed our driveway and Nana and Papa's driveway. Of course we had to do some sledding too. And Sunday was spent making Papa Jack's favorite cake for his birthday. A made-from-scratch german chocolate. Wow, I don't think I'm ready for Cake wars yet...

Hello Baby!

30 weeks and counting...baby will be here before we know it. :)

How far along? THIRTY Weeks

Maternity clothes? Still half and half...Saturday was officially the day my jeans no longer button...
Stretch Marks? Just the leftovers from Princess T
Sleep: Not enough!
Miss Anything? Bending over with ease...
Movement: This baby has MOVES. I'm pretty sure he/she is taking dance lessons from Big Sister T.
Food cravings: Sweets...which must go away soon.
Anything making you queasy or sick: The thought of eating yogurt. YUCKO.
Labor Signs: No, hoping to keep it that way for another 10 weeks or so. :)
Symptoms: Tired, full feeling.
Belly Button in or out? out
Wedding rings on or off? on
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! Although I did have a crabby day the other day with no other explanation other than this pregnancy. :)
Looking forward to: Getting to know what this baby is!  I'm getting a little antsy. :)

Happy Love Day!

Hope everyone had a day filled with love! We sure did. The Mr. Hand delivered flowers, a balloon, and chocolates to my office. We shared cards in the morning and T gave Daddy her hand-picked valentine that was filled with Tonka trucks and declared a Happy Valentine's Day to "the best little boy ever!" We had a delightful dinner at a diner like we do every year with burgers and shakes and then headed to the hospital to see Papa Jack after his knee surgery. What a great day filled with love! Hope you all had a day filled with love also!

Life in Pictures.

It's been wonderful to spend some time at home on the weekends and not busy running to GG & Papa Jack's or being gone. Last weekend the rest of the family was in town to help take care of GG so that gave us a little break. :) We spent time with Kyle & Kelli and had a nice, calm weekend. We did some hiking and running mainly.

The life...

The life of a pregnant public defender. I told you I could write a book. I'm in trial next week and my client was telling me it's gonna be "weird" with me being "all pregnant" rocking out a trial and "kicking their ass." He said he was telling his celly about me and his celly said, "Well at least you know she puts out if she's pregnant."

Ummmmmmmm...........

Couple things:
1. That's embarrassing.
2. Why would it matter to you, Mr. Client, if I "put out?"

Ummmmmmmmm....WTF?
