Dear Weekend

Dear Weekend,

Why do you come and go so quickly? Why can't you just stay a little longer?

This weekend we jumped head first into adventure time. We skipped naps and went to the mountains. We skipped lunch and opted for clif bars. We hopped through mud puddles and meandered across sand and rocks. We got dirty knees and sandy bums. We breathed in the fresh rainy air and held hands.

Carpe Diem.

Dear Beach

Dear Beach,
You feed our souls. You melt our stress. You shrink our age. You make us whole.

Today we ventured out into the pouring rain to see what we could find. Only an hour and a half from us is little Sandpoint, ID. We found so much fun there, and ended the trip with time at the beach.

There was still snow on the beach. The waves were rough. The wind was howling. It was absolutely pouring rain. And yet-we ran, jumped, through rocks, splashed, and meandered on that sandy beach. We daydreamed while staring into the mountains. And this Mama literally squealed with excitement when we got out of the car. I didn't care that it was 40 degrees. I didn't care the sun hasn't been out in days. It was there, on that sand, that I had the freedom to be a kid with my kids.

Sometimes it's just a small adventure that feeds the soul. Today, I am happy. Today, I am whole. Today, two nuggets are filled up too. :)

Dear Life

Dear Life,
You've thrown some curveballs at me lately. Nothing major, just day-to-day stuff. But what you must not have known is what I've been doing while you aren't looking. For instance: I made a New Years goal-resolution-thing to get up every morning and do some yoga and read some bible.

You see life, these curveballs are nothing with 37 days of a clear mind under my belt.

Because every time I get annoyed, upset, frustrated...I think about how BLESSED I am.

The blessings are endless:
One amazing hubs. Seriously this guy spends his days wondering how he can be a better hubs and father.

Two healthy nuggets. I hear so many stories of struggling families, I can't help but feel so lucky to have two nuggets who are healthy and happy.

So life, keep it comin'.
