Chasing a Dream

There is no telling how many miles you have to run while chasing a dream. -anonymous

I spent last weekend having some amazing Mama time, cousin time, and relaxation time in Vancouver BC.

We busted out 13.1 miles. 21km. Pounding out the pavement and leaning all my cares on the path felt amazing. The first 10 miles were smooth as silk, with each step I felt more powerful. Then apparently my blood sugar got low and the last 3 were suckage. I had to repeat over and over in my head that "I had this."  But I crossed that finish line. And damn it felt good.

We celebrated with some wine from a Dixie cup, yoga on the beach, and a fabulous outdoor concert.

I am so blessed to have an amazing hubs who was all for this little outing and single-parented like a champ.

These Six People

These Six People.

A Farmer.
A Principle.
An Administrative Assistant.
A Crop Adjuster.
A Phlebotomist.
A Jane of All Trades at Midrivers.

But these people are so much more than that.

A brother.
A sister.
A father.
A mother.
A wife.
A friend.
A Brother-in-Law.
A Sister-In-Law.

I've been blessed enough to be a part of this family for the last 13 years or so. I can still remember meeting most of these 6 amazing people for the first time. I remember bits and pieces of the beginning of our relationships. Jim's 30th birthday, Beth's house in the mountains of MT (with a pool), Dan's forehead plastered with permanent marker, Angie's house in Gillette that was extremely tall, Sheila and I planning our weddings the same year.

But after all these years, I realize that 5 of these people are so complex - and I have only cracked the surface of their amazeingness.

All 6 of them living in 6 different worlds, but all so similar with the roots given to them by the Nagle family. All 6 living in different towns, but all living similar country lifestyles. All 6 of them doing different day-to-day jobs, but all 6 of them able to run a farm if need be. All 6 of them with different families, but all 6 of them still knowing the value of a family.

Even with all the differences these 6 people have, there are some things they have in common:
Blue Eyes.
A big heart.
Farm love.
MT.
Wit.
Jokes.

And those are things I love.

We {heart} Montana

Oh how we love Montana.

The way our hearts flutter and our tummies get warm as we ease our way east is indescribable.  We spend our 12 hour drives reminiscing about the land that we love. We talk about the early days of our relationship, our families, and our childhood. We share memories with each other that we haven't shared before. Even with the nuggets in the back needing something every 5-19 seconds, we manage to get into a deep conversation every time.

The hometown that started it all, Glendive, holds such a special place in both our hearts. It's the beauty that we didn't notice when we were younger. We took it for granted or thought it was ugly. But as I look around that small town these days, I see badlands every angle I turn. I see beautiful sunsets Every night. I hear thunder crashing like I haven't heard in any other home. I see a chocolate milk river flowing through the town.

We love spending time with fabulous friends who helped form us as teens, adults, children. Catching up on life and having it seem as though we saw them last weekend, rather than last year.

And then there's the farm. Ryan's home, his first love, and a piece of land that will forever hold a piece of his heart. It is because of this land that every spring he begs for a tractor. We love exploring the special places of the farm and hearing Ryan's stories. Top it off with a farm cooked meal with the family and the clock ticks just a little slower.

This trip we spent time at the county fair checking out exhibits and watching the beautiful Nagle girls work their magic with their horses. To say T was enthralled With the horses and the girls is an understatement. These are memories will have for many years to come.

We feel so blessed to be able to spend quality time with our Montana family, watching the clock tick a little slower, and being grateful for our blessings.

Dear Ryan

9 years.

3,287 days

78,892 hours

3 apartments.

1 house.

1 bar exam.

3 jobs.

2 nuggets.

1 puppy.

6 cars.

9 beautiful years. You are such an amazing man, filled with selfless love to spread to those around you. You know how to work hard, and you know how to play hard. You give to others before yourself. You hand out food to the homeless, money to the less fortunate. You give your free time to those who need help. You can get anyone to have a conversation with you, all you have to do is say hello. Your voice is easy to listen to, your stories are aplenty. Your freckles will never go, and without them you'd be unrecognizable. Your smile is worth a million bucks, and your laugh has never changed. Your cooking is restaurant-worthy. Your cleaning skills are mad. You taught me that a pickle was a cucumber. Your drive to hunt is inspiring. Your thoughtful consideration of your health is admirable. Your fathering is impecable. Your ability to keep your cool in the most heated situations is unbelievable.

You, the man I am lucky enough to be married to, are a saint.

I love you.

xoxoxo

Thank you for the health of my loved ones.

Thank you God.

Dear Life...

Dear Life,

You have kept me so busy, I haven't even updated the blog in over a month. Yikes. Normally this wouldnt' matter, but considering this blog is my children's baby book...this is problematic. :)

Anywho...let's do a little recap of what's been happening in the Nagle household.

June - I finally finished the longest trial in the history of mankind and ended up with a result that I did not want. This took some time to recover from, and I'll blame my lack of writing partly on this. In fact, I'm still in the recovery stages.  We spent Father's Day camping in our favorite North Idaho place of heaven...Big Hank.  We love this place, and love to spend our time fly-fishing, hiking, and hanging out on the river waiting for a big bull moose to walk through the campground. This place is like the North Idaho version of Hawaii...if you can't relax there, you need therapy.

We moved right into July by heading out to Flathead lake for a week to spend the 4th of July there. This place is another taste of heaven. We spent the week at the bible camp that I attended as a child. It is a place filled with happiness, love, beauty, and most importanly, God's creations. We met some wonderful people, had some amazing couples time, and played in the most beautiful lake of all time for one solid week. We were able to recreate our family after a rough few months of chaos. How blessed are we?

We spent the next few weeks celebrating birthdays galore. We started out with my birthday and spent the day at the splash park enjoying some cooling off. Next up was Uncle Mooley's birthday, celebrated with cake at Nana & Papa's. And then Daddy's birthday, with a commemorative trip to Cabela's.

Now we are in a holding pattern until we pack up and head to the Dive to see the Nagles.  The nuggets are excited to spend time with cousins and Aunties and of course, Grandma Gail!
