Oh how we love Montana.
The way our hearts flutter and our tummies get warm as we ease our way east is indescribable. We spend our 12 hour drives reminiscing about the land that we love. We talk about the early days of our relationship, our families, and our childhood. We share memories with each other that we haven't shared before. Even with the nuggets in the back needing something every 5-19 seconds, we manage to get into a deep conversation every time.
The hometown that started it all, Glendive, holds such a special place in both our hearts. It's the beauty that we didn't notice when we were younger. We took it for granted or thought it was ugly. But as I look around that small town these days, I see badlands every angle I turn. I see beautiful sunsets Every night. I hear thunder crashing like I haven't heard in any other home. I see a chocolate milk river flowing through the town.
We love spending time with fabulous friends who helped form us as teens, adults, children. Catching up on life and having it seem as though we saw them last weekend, rather than last year.
And then there's the farm. Ryan's home, his first love, and a piece of land that will forever hold a piece of his heart. It is because of this land that every spring he begs for a tractor. We love exploring the special places of the farm and hearing Ryan's stories. Top it off with a farm cooked meal with the family and the clock ticks just a little slower.
This trip we spent time at the county fair checking out exhibits and watching the beautiful Nagle girls work their magic with their horses. To say T was enthralled With the horses and the girls is an understatement. These are memories will have for many years to come.
We feel so blessed to be able to spend quality time with our Montana family, watching the clock tick a little slower, and being grateful for our blessings.
